The Tri-Valley Mustangs track team traveled to Garretson for the Jesse James Track Meet on Friday, April 10th, competing against a strong field and turning in multiple top-five performances.
On the boys’ side, the Mustangs were led by a strong showing in the sprints. Brody Dybvig placed third in the 100m dash with a time of :11.47, while Corven Jensen finished fourth in :11.54 and Owen Effling took fifth in :11.69. Effling also added a second-place finish in the 200m dash in :23.74.
In the distance events, Jaxton Rinehart claimed first place in the 3200m run with a time of 11:12.90.
The Mustangs found success in the hurdles as well, with Ty Oyen winning the 110m hurdles in :15.32 and Landyn Reiser placing fifth in the 300m hurdles with a time of :44.62.
Tri-Valley’s relay teams also had a strong day. The 4x100m relay team of Corven Jensen, Ty Oyen, Owen Effling, and Brody Dybvig captured first place with a time of :44.01. The 4x800m relay team of Jaxton Rinehart, Eli Kendig, Isaiah Kendig, and Sullivan Snethen placed third in 9:25.76, while the 4x400m relay team of Landyn Reiser, Eli Kendig, Isaiah Kendig, and Gerrit Koopman finished fourth in 3:42.74.
For the girls, the Mustangs were led by standout performances in the hurdles and distance events. Emry Jones won the 100m hurdles in :16.60 and also placed third in the 200m dash with a time of :29.30. Peyton Vogt captured first place in the 300m hurdles in :49.48.
In the distance events, Pria Martinell placed third in the 3200m run with a time of 13:49.15.
The Mustangs also had success in the field events, as Kadence Davey finished second in the javelin with a throw of 106’4″ and Ava Christensen had a fourth-place finish at 101’5”.
Tri-Valley rounded out the meet with a strong relay performance from the girls 4x400m team of Peyton Vogt, Rowyn Gacke, Tyler Gibson, and Lauren Dittbenner, which placed third in a time of 4:41.97, while the 4x100m and 4x800m relay teams added fifth-place finishes.
