Mustang Girls Suffer Loss in Parkston

The Tri-Valley Mustang girls basketball team suffered a loss on the road on Friday, December 13th.  The Parkston Trojans took a lead in the first quarter and held for a 51-33 win.

The Trojans led from start to finish in the game.  Parkston built a 14-5 lead in the first quarter.  They extended the lead to 27-13 by halftime.  The two teams combined for 31 points in the third quarter.  Parkston extended the lead to 43-28.  After a higher scoring third quarter, the teams combined for just 13 total points in the final quarter as Parkston outscored Tri-Valley 8-5 in the quarter.

Tri-Valley shot 27% (12-44) overall, 29% (6-21) from three-point area, and 19% (3-16) from the free-throw line.  The Trojans shot 40% (12-40) from the field overall, 23% (3-13) on three-point attempts, and 67% (24-36) from the free-throw line.

Mattie Huwe had 11 points.  Hailey Sorenson finished with six points and two rebounds.  Peyton Vogt added four points and three rebounds.  Emery Pearson and Izzy Davey both had three points each.
