Mustang Girls Basketball Looks to Continue from Last Year’s Success

The 2023-2024 Tri-Valley Mustang girls basketball team finished with an overall record of 11-11, but they were competing at a really high level at the end of the season reaching the SoDak 16.  Head coach Sam Williams said the team is looking to pick up where they left off last season.

Izzy Davey returns this year coming off a Dak-12 All-Conference honorable mention last season.  Mattie Huwe averaged eight points a game last season, and Maddie Wezel returns after averaging six points and five rebounds a game last year.  Emery Pearson and Abby Wagner also return with significant varsity experience.

Danika Fluth, Hailey Sorenson, Peyton Vogt, Kadence Davey, and Emry Jones will all be newcomers to watch this season.  Brooklyn Larson, Reagan Pearson, and Jaidyn McMillen will all be competing for varsity roles this year as well.

“Our outlook for the season is very positive. This group has worked hard in the offseason, and their dedication shows. Defensively, I believe we’re going to be strong, which will give us a solid foundation to compete. Offensively, the key will be how well we can score and execute under pressure.  Everyone is eager to embrace the changes and continue improving as the season progresses,” said Willilams.

Tri-Valley travels to Garretson on Tuesday, December 10th to start the 2024-2025 sseason.
