Mustang Girls Even Record with Close Win in Milbank

The Tri-Valley Mustang girls locked down the Milbank Bulldogs in the fourth quarter to get a 57-54 win on Saturday, February 15th.

Milbank led for most of the first half.  They had an 11-8 lead at the end of the first quarter and extended the lead to 24-20 at halftime.  Tri-Valley started the third quarter on a 9-2 run for a 29-26 lead with 6:00 to play.  The two teams went back and forth the rest of the quarter, and Milbank led 46-44 going into the fourth.  The Bulldogs continued to lead 50-47 with 5:00 to play in the game.  Milbank added a point to their lead, 51-47, with 2:40 left.  The Mustangs would tie the game 53-53 with 1:50 remaining.  Tri-Valley finished the game on a 4-1 run to take the win.

Tri-Valley shot 35% (16-46) overall, 42% (10-24) from three-point area, and 79% (15-19) from the free-throw line.  Milbank finished the game shooting 40% (19-48) overall, 29% (6-21) on three-point shots, and 59% (10-17) from the free-throw line.

Mattie Huwe finished with 21 points, five rebounds, four assists, and three steals.  Kadence Davey had 12 points and three rebounds.  Izzy Davey also had 12 points with three steals.  Danika Fluth ended with four points and four rebounds.
