Mustang Boys Fall in Regular Season Finale

The Tri-Valley Mustang boys had their final game of the regular season at Sioux Falls Christian on Friday, February 23rd.  The Chargers handed the Mustangs a 90-55 defeat.

The Mustangs hung with Sioux Falls Christian for a quarter and a half.  Tri-Valley trailed 20-16 with under :30 to go in the opening quarter.  The Chargers made a three-point shot right before the buzzer for a 23-16 lead.  Tri-Valley was within six points, 36-30, halfway through the second quarter.  Sioux Falls Christian ended the second quarter on a 13-4 run for a 49-34 halftime lead.  They carried that momentum into the third quarter and outscored the Mustangs 28-15 for a 77-49 advantage going into the fourth quarter.

Tri-Valley shot 40% (18-45) overall in the game, 38% (6-16) on three-point shots, and 81% (13-16) from the free-throw line.  Sioux Falls Christian finished the game shooting 52% (33-64) overall, 39% (13-33) on three-point shots, and 79% (11-14) from the free-throw line.

Trey Johnson finished with 15 points, four rebounds, four assists, and two blocked shots.  Tristen Bunde added 10 points, four rebounds, and three assists.  Logan Ellison had seven points.  Carter Sorenson ended with six points, two rebounds, and two assists.  Alex Wingen had four points.
