Mustang Boys Earn Big Win at Dak-12/NEC Clash

The Tri-Valley Mustang boys played the Redfield Pheasants in the Dak-12/NEC Clash in Madison on Saturday, January 27th.  The Mustangs had no trouble with the Pheasants and took win 87-42.

Tri-Valley built a double digit lead right away in the first quarter.  They led 24-11 at the quarter break.  The lead extended to 42-28 at halftime.  The second half is where the Mustangs really started to pull away.  Tri-Valley pushed the lead to 65-39 by the end of the third quarter and then held Redfield to just three points in the final quarter.

The Mustangs shot 44% overall in the game, 31% on three-point attempts, and 73% from the free-throw line.  Redfield was held to 31% shooting overall, 46% on three-point shots, and 65% from the free-throw line.  The Tri-Valley defense played well all game and forced 31 Redfield turnovers which led to 32 points.

Brady Jewett, named the game’s MVP, had 22 points, six rebounds, and two steals.  Logan Ellison finished with 17 points, four rebounds, two assists, and five steals.  Landon Hughes also had double figures with 12 points and three rebounds.  Tristen Bunde and Alex Wingen both ended the game with eight points each.
