The Tri-Valley Mustang boys earned their first win of the season at home on Friday, December 15th. The Mustangs hosted the Garretson Blue Dragons and cruised to a 64-36 win.
Tri-Valley never trailed in the game. They ended the first quarter with a six-point lead, 17-11. The Mustangs increased the lead to 35-18 by halftime. Tri-Valley also outscored the Blue Dragons 21-13 in the third quarter and 8-5 in the fourth quarter. They led 56-31 at the end of the third quarter.
The Mustangs shot 44% (25-57) overall, 39% (7-18) from three-point area, and 7-14 from the free-throw line. Garrretson finished the game shooting 21% (11-52) overall, 19% (4-21) on three-point shots, and 59% (10-17) from the free-throw line.
Three players finished in double figures on the night. Alex Wingen had 16 points, five steals, and two rebounds. Trey Johnson added 13 points, nine rebounds, four blocks, and three assists. Carter Sorenson had 12 points, eight rebounds, and two assists. Brady Jewett had nine points and five rebounds.
