The Tri-Valley Mustang volleyball team hosted the Madison Bulldogs on Thursday, September 24th. The Bulldogs took the match in straight sets by scores of 25-16, 25-22, and 25-15.
The first set started with ties of 2-2 and 4-4. Tri-Valley held a 7-5 lead, but Madison tied the score 8-8. The Bulldogs went on a 4-2 run to take a 12-10 lead. They extended that lead to 18-13 an then to 21-15. Madison finished the set on a 4-1 run for a 25-16 win.
The Mustangs started the second set with a 3-0 run. They followed that with a 7-4 run to extend the lead to 10-4. Madison cut the lead in half to 11-8. The Mustangs went on a 4-1 run for a 15-9 lead. Tri-Valley continued to lead at 19-14, but Madison would go on a 5-0 run to take a 20-19 lead. That momentum carried the Bulldogs to a 25-23 victory.
Madison kept rolling into the third set and started with a 5-1 run . That start kept them in front the entire set. The Bulldogs would lead by scores of 11-6 and 14-9. They kept adding to their lead at a score of 22-13 before winning 25-15.
Lily Schlueter finished with 17 set assists, 10 digs, and two ace serves. Emry Jones had six kills and nine digs. Brooke Steineke added five kils and six digs. Rowyn Gacke also had five kills. Kendra Dummett had three kills, and Taylor Nelson had 11 digs.
