Lennox Slips by Tri-Valley Baseball in Extra Innings

The Tri-Valley high school baseball team hosted Lennox on Monday, April 22nd.  The game needed exta innings, and Lennox earned a 6-5 victory.

Lennox scored a single run in each of the first four innings.  Tri-Valley had a two-run bottom of the first and added a run in the bottom of the fourth.  After four innings of play, Lennox led 4-3.  Tyle Groenewold had an RBI groundout in the bottom of the fifth to tie the game 4-4.  The game remained tied 4-4 after seven innings of play.  Lennox took advantage of a two-out error to score two runs in the top of the eighth.  Carter Sorenson had an RBI single with one out in the bottom of the eighth, but Tri-Valley was unable to bring home the tying run.

Sorenson finished with two hits and three RBIs.  Everett Althoff had three singles and an RBI.  Groenewold had a single and an RBI.  Nathan Madison added two hits.  Tristen Bunde, Ryan Lehman, and Treyson Richter all had one hit each.  Sorenson pitched 2 2/3 innings and allowed three runs, two earned, on fie hits and two walks and four strikeouts.  Bunde pitched 5 1/3 innings and allowed three runs, one earned, on two hits and four walks with five strikeouts.
