Late Second Half Run Gives Huskies Win over Mustang Boys

After the game was tied 39-39 midway through the third quarter, the Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies outscored the Tri-Valley Mustangs (2-6) 32-15 the rest of the game for a 71-54 win on Friday, January 27th.

Elk Point-Jefferson had a six point lead, 22-16, by the end of the first quarter.  Tri-Valley grabbed a 28-27 lead midway through the second quarter.  The Huskies retook the lead 30-29 at halftime.  The Mustangs tied the game 39-39 in the third quarter, but Elk Point-Jefferson responded with a 9-2 run for a 48-41.  The Mustangs cut the lead to 48-44 going into the fourth quarter.  The Huskies, however, outscored Tri-Valley 23-10 in the final quarter.

Noah Haynes had 19 points and eight rebounds.  Trey Johnson finished with 14 points and six rebounds.  Logan Ellison and Alex Wingen both had eight points each.  Braden Oyen had five points and five assists.
