Jewett Scorches Nets in Mustang Win

Brady Jewett nearly outscored the Freeman Academy/Marion Bearcats all by himself on Thursday, December 28th.  The Tri-Valley Mustangs shook off a slow start for a 65-33 home victory.

Tri-Valley trailed the Bearcats 6-8 and then again 9-11 late in the first quarter.  The Mustangs tied the score, and the first quarter ended with an 11-11 tie.  The Bearcats took an 18-15 lead about midway through the second quarter, and then the Mustang offense got rolling.  Tri-Valley finished the first half on a 17-2 run for a 32-20 halftime lead.

The offense kept rolling, and Jewett started knocking down three-pointer after three-pointer in the the second half.  The Mustangs outscored Freeman Academy/Marion 18-5 in the third quarter to extend their lead to 50-25 heading into the fourth quarter.

Tri-Valley shot 48% (24-50) overall in the game, 43% (10-23) from three-point area, and 7-9 from the free-throw line.  The Bearcats shot 25% (12-48) overall, 18% (5-28) on three-point attempts, and 4-7 from the free-throw line.

Jewett finished with 32 points, which included eight made three-point shots.  Logan Ellison had 12 points.  Alex Wingen added eight points, eight rebounds, and three steals.  Trey Johnson had six points, 12 rebounds, and two steals.
