Huskies Rally in Fourth to Beat Mustang Girls

The Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies (4-7) rallied in the fourth quarter to defeat the Tri-Valley Mustangs 50-44 on Thursday, January 26th.

The Huskies had a 10-point lead, 16-6, at the end of the first quarter.  Tri-Valley cut the lead to just two points by halftime, 20-18.  The Mustang run continued into the third quarter, starting the quarter on a 10-0 run for 28-20 lead.  The Mustangs led 28-23 going into the fourth quarter.  Tri-Valley led 33-32 midway through the fourth quarter, but Huskies ended the game on a 18-11 advantage for the win.

The Mustangs shot 37% (16-43) overall, 21% (4-19) on three-point attempts, and 57% (8-14) from the free-throw line.  Elk Point-Jefferson was 34% (16-47) from the field, 50% (6-12) on three-point attempts, and 52% (12-23) from the free-throw line.

Lauren Grinde had 18 points, nine rebounds, three assists, and two steals.  Steph Buchmann also had 18 points, four rebounds, and three assists.  Ava Pearson added six points and three rebounds.
