Fourth Quarter Rally Lifts Mustang Boys to Win

A big fourth quarter rally helped the Tri-valley Mustang boys basketball team to a 50-48 home win over the Vermillion Tanagers on Tuesday, December 20th.

The Mustangs ended the first quarter with a 17-14 lead, but Vermillion was able to get the lead themselves in the second quarter.  The Tanagers led 30-26 at halftime.  They then scored the first four points of the third quarter for a 34-26 advantage.  Each team struggled offensively in the third quarter as both teams only scored six points each.  Vermillion led 36-32 heading into the fourth quarter.

The Mustangs shot 43% (17-40) from the field overall, 50% (8-16) on three-point shots, and 62% (8-13) from the free-throw line.  Vermillion finished the game 25% (13-53) overall, 18% (4-22) from three-point area, and 64% (18-28) from the free-throw line.
