Big Rally by Titans Leads to Win over Mustangs

The Mt Vernon/Plankinton Titans broke a 10-10 tie late in the first quarter with a big run that led to a 63-42 win over the Tri-Valley Mustangs on Saturday, January 7th.

The two teams traded baskets early in the first quarter.  The game was tied 10-10 with 2:40 to play in the first quarter, but the Titans ended the quarter on an 8-0 run for an 18-10 lead.  That lead continued to grow in the second quarter.  Mt Vernon/Plankinton finished the first half leading 44-17.  The Titans lead was 60-29 at the end of the third quarter.

The Mustangs shot 33% (19-57) from the field, 1-15 from three-point area, and 3-7 from the free-throw line.  The Titans were 42% (23-55) shooting overall, 29% (7-24) from three-point area, and 71% (10-14) from the free-throw line.

Trey Johnson finished with 11 points, eight rebounds, and three steals.  Braden Oyen had 10 points, two steals, and two assists.  Noah Haynes added eight points, two rebounds, and two steals.  Levi Langloss had seven points.
