Canton Takes Straight Set Match over Tri-Valley

The Tri-Valley Mustang volleyball team hosted the Canton C-Hawks on Tuesday, September 24th.  The C-Hawks took the win in straight sets by scores of 27-25, 25-17, and 25-11.

The first set went back and forth between the two teams.  After ties of 2-2 and 4-4, Tri-Valley went on a 5-0 run for a 9-4 lead.  Canton responded with five straight to tie the score 9-9.  The C-Hawks would continue the run to build an 18-12 lead.  The Mustangs chipped away at the lead and tied the score 20-20.  They would then go ahead 22-20, but Canton would tie the score 23-23.  The set was tied 24-24 and 25-25 before Canton scored the final two points for the 27-25 win.

The second set started with a 3-3 tie.  Canton would build a 7-4 lead and then slowly extend that lead to 20-11.  The Mustangs could only cut the lead down to seven points, 22-15, as the C-Hawks won 25-17.  After an early 3-0 lead by Canton, the Mustangs tied the score 3-3 in the third set.  The C-Hawks scored five in a row for an 8-3 lead.  They extended the lead to 14-7.  Tri-Valley went on a 4-0 run to pull within three points, 14-11, but Canton ended the match on an 11-0 run for the 25-11 win.
