Balanced Attack Leads to Mustangs Win in Marion

The Tri-Valley Mustang boys basketball team used a balanced scoring attack to earn a 67-36 win over the Freeman Academy/Marion Bearcats in Marion on Monday, December 30th.  Tri-Valley took the lead in the opening quarter and never looked back.

The Mustangs built a double-digit lead, 24-13, by the end of the first quarter.  They would outscore the Bearcats in the second quarter, 14-7, to extend their lead to 38-20 by halftime.  The offense continued to roll in the second half.  Tri-Valley pushed the lead to 54-31 at the end of the third quarter.  The defense then held the Bearcats to just five points in the final quarter.

Four players finished in double figures.  Ty Oyen had 13 points, nine rebounds, and three assists.  Landon Hughes finished with 12 points and five rebounds.  Brady Jewett also had 12 points with two rebounds and three assists.  Alex Wingen added 11 points and six rebounds.  Tristen Bunde ended with eight points, six rebounds, four assists, and three blocked shots.  Teagin Gacke had seven points and five rebounds.  Aiden Bunde finished with four points and eight rebounds.
