Tri-Valley Boys Win First Game of Season

The Tri-Valley Mustang boys basketball team earned a come-from-behind win in Garretson for their first victory of the year on Friday, December 20th.  After trailing at the end of the first quarter, the Mustangs outscored the Blue Dragons in the other three quarters for a 66-41 win.

Garretson built an eight-point lead by the end of the first quarter, 18-10.  Tri-Valley was able to chip away at the lead in the second quarter, and took the lead right before halftime, 28-26.  The big quarter for the Mustangs came in the third quarter.  They outscored Garretson 26-8 in the quarter for a 54-34 lead heading into the final quarter.

Tri-Valley shot 39% (25-64) overall, 31% (9-29) from three-point area, and 7-12 from the free-throw line.  Garretson ended the game shooting 26% (15-48) overall, 20% (5-25) on three-point attempts, and 6-12 from the free-throw line.

Teagin Gacke finished with 21 points and seven rebounds.  Brady Jewett tallied 18 points and six rebounds.  Ty Oyen nine points, 10 rebounds, and seven assists.  Alex Wingen had seven points and nine rebounds.
