Canistota took the early 4-2 lead in a back-and-forth opening set.  The Hawks led. 7-6, but the Mustangs would tie the score 9-9.  Tri-Valley went in front 11-10 only to see Canistota go on a 4-1 run to retake the lead 14-12.  The set would be tied at scores of 17-17, 19-19, and 21-21.  Canistota then scored two straight points to go ahead 23-21.  The Mustangs responded with three straight for a 24-23 advantage.  The Hawks tied it 24-24.  After a 25-25 tie, Tri-Valley scored the last two points for a 27-25 win.

The Hawks started the second set with a 3-1 lead, but that would be the only lead they would have.  Tri-Valley went on a 3-0 run to go in front 4-3.  They extended that lead to 8-5, but Canistota got within a point at 9-8.  The Mustangs maintained their lead, and after leading 15-11, Tri-Valley slowly pulled away for the 25-19 victory.

Tri-Valley used that momentum early in the third set and took an early 4-0 lead.  The Hawks followed with a 4-0 run of their own to tie the score 4-4.  The Mustangs would then get three in a row to go back in front 7-4.  Tri-Valley was able to keep the lead at scores of 10-6, 12-8, and 16-17.  The Mustangs held that two-to-three point edge to a 22-20 score, and then they finished the match with a 3-0 run for a 25-20 win.
