The Tri-Valley Mustang volleyball team hit the road for a match against the Sioux Falls Lutheran Eagles on Tuesday, September 8th. The Mustangs took the match in straight sets by scores of 25-20, 25-17, and 25-17.
The Eagles held a 3-2 lead to start the first set. The set was tied 7-7 before the Mustangs went ahead 12-10. Tri-Valley continued to hold their lead of two points at 17-15. They were able to extend the lead to 23-20 and then scored the final two points for the 25-20 win.
The second set started with a 2-2 score. Tri-Valley went on a 4-1 run to take a 6-3 lead. They slowly pushed their lead to 14-7 and then to 22-14. Each team scored three more points each as the Mustangs won 25-17.
The third set started with another 2-2 tie. Again Tri-Valley grabbed the lead, this time at 5-3. They would extend their lead to 9-4 and then to 16-9. Sioux Falls Lutheran closed the gap to three points, 18-15, but the Mustangs finished the match on a 7-2 run for the win.
