Lennox Beats Tri-Valley in Straight Sets

The Tri-Valley Mustang volleyball team hosted the Lennox Orioles on Thursday, September 3rd.  The Orioles took the match in straight sets by scores of 25-15, 25-23, and 25-10.

The first set started with a 2-2 tie.  Lennox then scored the next four points for a 6-2 lead.  The Mustangs would trip that lead down to one point, 10-9, but the Orioles went on an 8-3 run to extend their lead to 18-12.  That lead grew to 10 points, 22-12, before Lennox won the set 25-15.

The Orioles opened the second set with a 5-3 lead.  They continued to hold a lead, 9-8, but the Mustangs tied the score 10-10.  Tri-Valley then took a 12-11 lead, but Lennox went on a 4-0 run to go back in front 15-12.  The run continued until Lennox led 18-12.  Tri-Valley was able to rally with a 9-3 run to tie the score 21-21.  The Orioles, however, took the win 25-23.

After a 2-2 tie to start the third set, the Mustangs went on a 3-0 run to go in front 5-2.  Lennox responded with a 6-0 run to take an 8-5 lead.  They kept the momentum going with a 7-1 run to extend the lead to 15-6.  Lennox kept rolling from there to a 25-10 win to take the match.

Peyton Vogt had seven kills and seven digs.  Dylann King added four kills.  Brooke Steineke had three kills and 13 digs.  Rowyn Gacke finished with 14 set assists and six digs.  Emry Jones had nine digs and two ace serves.  Jersey Lucas also had five digs.
