Mustang Football Falls to Milbank in Season Opener

The Tri-Valley Mustang football team started the 2026 season at home against the Milbank Bulldogs on Friday, August 28th.  The Bulldogs scored two times on fourth down to help them to a 27-15 win over the Mustangs.

Milbank’s first score came on a fourth down play in the second quarter.  They scored on a 22-yard touchdown pass.  A made extra point put the Bulldogs up 7-0.  They added to their lead later in the quarter on a seven-yard run for a 13-0 score.  The halftime score would remain 13-0.

The Bulldogs scored again in the third quarter on a two-yard touchdown pass.  Their two-point conversion was good to extend their lead to 21-0.  The Mustangs got on the board in the third quarter.  Alex McFarland had a three-yard touchdown run.  Kadyn King made the extra point to make the score 21-7.  Milbank scored on another fourth down play in the fourth quarter, this time on a 27-yard pass.  The extra point was no good leaving the score 27-7.  Cole Hendrixson had a four-yard touchdown run late in the game.  The two point conversion was good, but time ran out on the Mustangs.
