Quarrier Softball Can’t Keep Pace with Lennox

The Dell Rapids Quarrier softball team couldn’t keep up with the Lennox Orioles in Lennox on Thursday, May 7th.  The Orioles scored in every inning and won the game on the 10-run rule, 12-1, after five innings of play.

Lennox built a big lead through the first two innings.  They scored three runs in the bottom of the first and four more in the bottom of the second for a 7-0 lead.  Aisley Grib scored on a steal of home in the top of the third for the lone run for Dell Rapids.   Lennox added three runs in the bottom of the third and two more in the bottom of the fourth.

Grib had two hits in the game, one of them a double.  Josie Becker had two singles.  Lexi Scherff and Parker Matzke both had one hit each.  Scherff pitched two innings and allowed eight runs, four earned, on six hits and three walks with one strikeout.  Emily Baker also pitched two innings and allowed four runs, three earned, on five hits.
