Dell Rapids Softball Gets Back into Win Column

The Dell Rapids Quarrier softball team got back into the win column with an 11-0 road win against Canton on Tuesday, April 21st.

The Quarriers scored in every inning.  Maci Millage had a two-run double in the top of the first inning.  Ella Johnson had an RBI ground ball, and Gabriella Carstensen followed with an RBI single in top of the second for a 4-0 lead.  Josie Becker added an RBI single in the third inning.

Dell Rapids would add four more runs in the top of the fourth.  Carstensen had an RBI ground out, Aisley Grib scored on an error, Becker had an RBI single, and Emma Lanpher had an RBI walk for a 9-0 lead.  Makenna Wilber hit an RBI single, and Grib stole home in the top of the fifth to make the score 11-0.  The game ended on the 10-run rule after the fifth inning.

Millage had three hits, two of them doubles, and an RBI.  Grib finished with three hits, one of those a double.  Carstensen and Becker each had two hits and two RBIs.  Johnson had two singles and an RBI.  Wilber added a hit and an RBI.  Sylea Sykes had a hit, and Emma Lanpher had an RBI.

Emily Baker pitched five innings and allowed two hits and two walks with 12 strikeouts.
