The Dell Rapids Quarrier boys rolled to a 74-50 victory over the Canton C-Hawks in Canton on Thursday, January 8th.
The Quarriers turned a one-point, 6-5, lead with 6:15 to play in the first quarter into a 23-14 advantage by quarter’s end. Dell Rapids extended that lead to 49-24 by halftime. The lead reached over 30 points in the third quarter to trigger the running clock. The Quarriers led 64-40 after three quarters of play.
Dell Rapids shot 44% (30-68) overall from the field, 25% (5-20) on three-point attempts, and 56% (9-16) from the free-throw line. Canton was 35% (17-48) from the field overall, 16% (3-19) from three-point area, and 62% (13-21) from the free-throw line.
Four players finished in double figures for the Quarriers. Camden Jones had 22 points, 12 rebounds, and three assists. Jace Brende ended with 12 points and four rebounds. Lincoln Anderson ended with 11 points. Karsen Paye had 10 points, four rebounds, and eight assists.
