The Dell Rapids Quarrier boys basketball team suffered a tough loss to open the 2025-2026 season on Friday, December 12th. The Quarriers traveled to Hartford and were defeated by the West Central Trojans 70-20.
West Central started the game on a 16-0 run and rolled from there. They held Dell Rapids to single digit scoring in all four quarters. The first quarter ended with West Central leading 24-1. They extended the lead to 43-8 by halftime. The Trojans outscored Dell Rapids in both quarters of the second half. They led 60-15 after the end of the third quarter.
Dell Rapids finished the game shooting 18% (7-38) overall, 2-11 from three-point area, and 4-11 from the free-throw line. West Central shot 55% (27-49) overall in the game, 41% (9-22) on three-point shots, and 7-8 from the free-throw line.
Camden Jones had five points and three rebounds. Karsen Paye and Kaden Smith both had five points and two rebounds each. Lincoln Anderson had three points and two rebounds. Jackson Peppel had two points.
