The Dell Rapids Quarrier softball team defeated the Baltic Bulldogs 16-0 in four innings at home on Tuesday, April 15th. Katie Kvigne pitched all four innings without allowing a hit and just two walks while striking out eight batters.
The Quarrier offense had 10 hits in the game, half of those being extra base hits. Kvigne also had three hits, including a home run, and four RBIs. Sylea Sykes had two hits, one a home run, and five RBIs. Emily Baker had a home run with two RBIs. Rylee Halverson had a single and two RBIs. Paige Trewin ended with two hits, one a double. Lexi Scherff added a triple. Emma Lanpher and Ella Johnson both had an RBI.
Dell Rapids scored a run in the bottom of the first inning. They added six more in the bottom of the second and seven in the bottom of the third. The game ended on the 15-run rule when Kvigne hit her inside-the-park home run to score two runs.
