Dell Rapids Navy 14U ended a five-game losing streak after a 10-7 win over Flandreau on Tuesday, July 9th. A sixth-inning rally sparked the victory.
Dell Rapids took the early lead, 1-0, with a run in the bottom of the first. Flandreau went ahead 2-1 with two runs in the top of the third, but Dell Rapids responded immediately. They scored three runs in the bottom of the inning for a 4-2 lead. Flandreau again took the lead in the top of the fifth, 5-4, with a three-run inning. Dell Rapids took the lead for good in the bottom of the sixth scoring six times to go ahead 10-5. Flandreau scored twice in the top of the seventh, but their rally was stopped there.
Rowdy Bowen had three hits and two RBIs. Owen Bollock added two hits and three RBIs. Andrew Schoeberl had a hit with two RBIs. Eli Gullickson and Charlie Bollock both had a hit and an RBI. Rhett Thoreson, Cutler Erickson, and Zander Windorski all had one hit each.
O. Bollock pitched four innings and allowed five earned runs on five hits and five walks with five strikeouts. Gullickson pitched two innings and allowed two hits and two walks with four strikeouts. Thoreson tossed an inning and allowed two earned runs on three hits with two strikeouts.
