The Dell Rapids Quarrier girls basketball team traveled to Elk Point to play the Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies on Saturday, January 6th. The Huskies took the win 52-36.
Dell Rapids trailed the Huskies by seven points at the end of the first quarter, 19-12. Elk Point-Jefferson held the Quarriers to six points in the second quarter and extended their lead to 31-18 by halftime. The third quarter helped Elk Point-Jefferson add to their lead. The Huskies led 46-22 going into the fourth quarter. Dell Rapids outscored the Huskies 14-6 in the final quarter.
The Quarriers shot 28% (13-47) overall in the game, 1-13 on three-point attempts, and 56% (9-16) from the free-throw line. Elk Point-Jefferson was 38% (18-48) shooting overall, 50% (7-14) from three-point area, and 90% (9-10) from the free-throw line.
Rorie Thoreson had 10 points, three rebounds, and three steals. Clara Justice had seven points, nine rebounds, and two assists. Jersi Schultz added six points, 10 rebounds, and two steals. Josie Price had five points and three rebounds. Elly Olson ended with four points, two rebounds, and two assists.
