The Dell Rapids Quarrier boys snapped a four-game kid and ended their 2025-2026 regular season with a home win over the Garretson Blue Dragons on Monday, February 23rd. Dell Rapids grabbed the lead in the first quarter and stayed in front to a 74-61 win.
The game started with an early 5-5 tie. Dell Rapids went on a 6-0 run to take an 11-5 lead. They stayed in front to a 15-11 score at the end of the first quarter. Garretson got within three points, 21-18, with 4:00 to play in the first half, but the Quarriers pushed their lead to seven points, 32-25, at halftime.
The offense really picked up in the second half for both teams. Each team scored 21 points each in the third quarter, and Dell Rapids continued to lead by seven, 53-46, going into the fourth quarter. The Blue Dragons again got within three points, 57-54, with 4:35 left in the game. The Quarriers responded with a 9-2 run to extend the lead to 66-56 with 2:30 to go. They stayed comfortably in front the rest of game.
Dell Rapids shot 59% (30-51) from the field overall, 43% (10-23) on three-point attempts, and 57% (4-7) from the free-throw line. Garretson finished the game shooting 42% (26-62) overall, 35% (9-26) from three-point area, and 0-3 from the free-throw line.
Camden Jones had a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds along with four blocked shots and three assists. Lincoln Anderson added 17 points. Karson Paye also had a double-double with 14 points and 10 assists. Jackson Peppel ended with nine points, six rebounds, and five assists. Hudson Wolff also had nine points with five rebounds. Carson Maeschen had five points and three rebounds.
