The Dell Rapids Quarrier girls bounced back into the win column with a big 60-22 win over the Garretson Blue Dragons in Garretson on Thursday, January 22nd.
The Quarriers led by just two points, 7-5, with 4:30 to play in the opening quarter. They would end the quarter on a 9-0 run to go ahead 16-5. That run got them rolling through the rest of the game. They extended their lead to 32-15 by halftime. The Quarrier defense would hold Garretson to just four points in the third quarter as the lead grew to 52-19 going into the fourth quarter.
Dell Rapids shot 40% (21-53) overall from the field, 28% (7-25) on three-point attempts, and 73% (11-15) from the free-throw line. Garretson finished the game shooting just 18% (8-45) overall, 11% (2-18) from three-point area, and 4-10 from the free-throw line.
Jersi Schultz had a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds along with four assists. Rorie Thoreson had a game-high 21 points with four assists. Claire Witte added eight points, 10 rebounds, and three assists. Elin Schoenhard also had eight points and four rebounds. Mya DeStigter had six points and three rebounds.
