The Dell Rapids Quarrier girls fell to a tough West Central Trojan team in Hartford on Tuesday, January 20th. The Trojans took the win 69-47.
West Central was able to pull away in the middle quarters in the win. The Trojans built a six-point lead, 18-12, by the end of the first quarter. The defense would hold Dell Rapids to just seven points in the second quarter while the offense scored 20 to take a 38-19 lead at halftime. The Trojans were able to extend the lead to 55-34 going into the final quarter.
Dell Rapids shot 37% (15-41) overall, 42% (8-19) on three-point shots, and 53% (9-17) from three-point area. West Central shot 55% (29-53) overall in the game, 39% (7-18) from three-point area, and 4-4 from the free-throw line.
Rorie Thoreson had 15 points, two rebounds, two assists, and three steals. Mya De Stigter ended with eight points, five rebounds, and three steals. Jersi Schultz had eight points and four rebounds. Kassidee Stykel also had eight points in the game. Elin Schoenhard ended with four points and four rebounds.
