The Dell Rapids Quarrier boys had a big second half to help them to a 76-56 win over the Parker/Marion Pheasants in Marion on Monday, January 19th.
The Pheasants held the lead throughout most of the first half. Parker/Marion held the lead 19-14 at the end of the first quarter. They continued to hold the lead at halftime, 38-35. The Quarriers then took over the game in the second half. Dell Rapids outscored the Pheasants 21-10 in the third quarter to go in front 56-48 going into the fourth quarter. The offense kept rolling and the defense stayed strong as the Quarriers pulled away for the 20-point win.
Dell Rapids shot 49% (30-61) from the field overall, 25% (4-16) from three-point area, and 67% (12-18) from the free-throw line. Parker/Marion finished the game shooting 35% (21-60) overall, 27% (6-22) on three-point shots, and 53% (8-15) from the free-throw line.
Karson Paye had 23 points, seven assists, and five rebounds in the game. Camden Jones had 19 points and eight rebounds. Jackson Peppel finished with 18 points and 12 rebounds. Kaden Smith had seven points, and Lincoln Anderson ended with six points.
