Both the Dell Rapids Quarrier girls and boys wrestling teams took part in the Jerry Opbroek Tournament in Mitchell on Saturday, January 17th. The girls team finished seventh with 27 team points. The boys team placed ninth with 60.5 points.
Josie Becker finished second in her division. Ila Hansen placed with with a 2-1 record, both wins by pins. Elly Murphy (1-3) and Ava Zachman (0-3) both finished fourth. Murphy’s win was by sudden victory.
Camden Tebay (132) and Breck Evans (175) both placed fourth in their respective weight classes with 2-2 records. Charlie Person (138) was fifth with a 2-2 record. Levi Peter (190) and Charlie Becker (285) both took sixth with 1-3 records. Jackson LeBrun (113), Charlie Stainbrook (126), and Austin Temple (165) all had one win on the day. Zach Grochow (144) and Peyton Grib (150) both finished 0-2.
