Quarriers Fall Just Short Against Aberdeen Christian

The Dell Rapids Quarrier boys basketball team fell just short of their first win of the season in Aberdeen on Saturday, December 20th.  The Aberdeen Christian Knights held off the Quarriers for a 65-62 win.

The two teams combined for 38 points in the opening quarter.  The Knights took the two-point advantage, 20-18, into the second quarter.  Aberdeen Christian was able to extend their lead to 35-29 by halftime.  The deficit got a little bigger for Dell Rapids in the third quarter.  The Knights took a 48-39 lead going into the fourth quarter.  Aberdeen Christian extended the lead to 13 points, 57-44, with 4:40 to play in the game.  The Quarriers made a strong rally but ran out of time.  The Knights were able to hold for a the three-point win.

Dell Rapids shot 46% (24-52) overall from the field, just 1-10 on three-point attempts, and 81% (13-16) from the free-throw line.  Aberdeen Christian was 49% (28-57) shooting overall, 25% (4-16) from three-point area, and 5-10 from the free-throw line.

Camden Jones had 23 points and four rebounds.  Karsen Paye ended with 16 points, four rebounds, three steals, and two assists.  Jace Brende had eight points and five rebounds.  Lincoln Anderson finished wtih seven points, three assists, and three steals.  Jackson Peppel had six points, eight rebounds, and three steals.
