The Dell Rapids Quarrier volleyball team is headed back to the SoDak 16 once again after a straight-set win over the Madison Bulldogs on Thursday, November 6th. The Quarriers won by scores of 25-17, 25-12, and 25-18.
The opening set started with an early 2-2 tie. Dell Rapids then went on a 5-1 run for a 7-3 lead. They were able to grow the lead to 11-5 and 15-7. The Bulldogs were able to get the lead down to three points, 19-16, but Dell Rapids finished the set on a 6-1 run for a 25-17 win.
The Quarriers started the second set with a 4-1 run. Madison counted with a 4-1 run of their own to tie the score 5-5. Dell Rapids responded with a 9-1 run to go in front 14-6. They were able to keep rolling through the second set and won 25-12.
The third set started with ties of 2-2, 6-6, 8-8, and 10-10. Dell Rapids was able to finally break away for a 16-11 lead. They extended that lead to 21-12. Madison made a run to cut the lead to 23-18, but Dell Rapids scored the final two points of the match for a 25-18 win.
Madelynn Henry finished with 18 kills, seven digs, and two ace serves. Tenley Anderson had 28 set assists, five ace serves, two kills, and two blocks. Sylea Sykes had seven kills, six digs, two blocks, and two ace serves. Elin Schoenhard added five kills, two blocks, and two ace serves. Peyton Hohn had seven kills and three blocks. Karlie Ingalls ended with four kills and two blocks. Alaina Wolff had five digs and four set assists.
Dell Rapids is the #2 seed in the SoDak 16 and will face #15 Todd County in Mitchell on Tuesday, November 11th at 6:30 p.m.
