The Dell Rapids Quarrier volleyball team finished second at the Dak-12 Conference Tournament held in Elk Point on Saturday, October 18th. The Quarriers, the #2 seed of the tournament, had matches against Tri-Valey, Sioux Falls Christian, and Dakota Valley.
The first match of the day for Dell Rapids was against #7 Tri-Valley. The Mustangs had to defeat #10 Vermillion to advance to the match against Dell Rapids. The Quarriers advanced to the semifinals with a straight-set win by scores of 25-15 and 25-13.
The semifinal match was against the #3 seeded Sioux Falls Christian Chargers. This was the third meeting of the year for these two teams. Dell Rapids had defeated the Chargers the previous two matches, and they earned a third win over Sioux Falls Christian. The Quarriers won in three sets by scores of 25-17, 20-25, and 26-24 to advance to the championship match.
The championship match was against #1 Dakota Valley. The matchup in the championship was also the third time Dakota Valley and Dell Rapids with the Panthers winning the previous two. The Panthers would get their third win of the season over the Quarriers to win the conference tournament. Dakota Valley won in three sets by scores of 25-15, 18-25, and 25-17.
