The Dell Rapids Quarrier volleyball team rolled through the Fighting Cougars of McCook Central/Montrose in Montrose on Tuesday, September 30th. They took the win in straight sets by scores of 25-12, 25-13, and 25-5.
The opening set started with a 3-1 Dell Rapids lead. The Quarriers extended that lead to five, 7-2. They stayed in front by five points at 10-5 and 14-9. Dell Rapids then went on a 5-1 run to make the score 19-10 before going on a 6-2 run for the win.
The Quarriers started the second set with a 4-1 lead. McCook Central stayed within three points at 10-7, but Dell Rapids pulled away. The Quarriers extended the lead to 18-9 and cruised to the 25-13 win. The momentum stayed with Dell Rapids in the third set. They started with a 5-1 lead and then scored eight in a row for a 13-1 lead. After being in front 16-4, the Quarriers finished the set and match on a 9-1 run.
