Flandreau Ends Season for Quarrier Girls

The Dell Rapids Quarrier girls had their season come to an end in Flandreau in a Region 3A SoDak 16 qualifying game on Thursday, February 27th.  The Flyers grabbed the lead in the second quarter and rode that to a 58-44 win.

Dell Rapids trailed 10-14 late in the first quarter, but finished it on a 9-2 run for a 19-16 lead.  Flandreau, however, went on a 9-0 run in the second quarter to take a 25-19 lead.  The Quarriers were only able to score two points in the quarter and trailed 30-21 at halftime.

The Fliers continued their run into the third quarter.  Their biggest lead of the game came at the 3:30 mark of the third quarter.  The Fliers led 39-23 at that point in the game.  Flandreau led 47-34 going into the fourth quarter.  The Quarriers were unfortunately unable to get the lead into single digits.

Dell Rapids shot 32% (15-47) overall, 29% (6-21) from three-point area, and 50% (8-16) from the free-throw line.  Flandreau finished the game shooting 39% (24-62) overall, 25% (3-12) on three-point shots, and 7-10 from the free-throw line.

Rorie Thoreson finished with 22 points and three steals.  Jersi Schultz had 14 points, eight rebounds, and three assists.  Elin Schoenhard had three points and four rebounds.  Mya DeStigter had three points as well.  Elly Olson had two points and five assists.
