A 10-4 run in the final four minutes of the game helped the West Central Trojans lock down a 63-46 win over the Dell Rapids Quarriers on Tuesday, January 21st.
West Central got out to an 8-0 start to the game. Dell Rapids responded with a 7-0 run to make the score 8-7 with 2:30 left in the first quarter. The Trojans would have a 15-11 lead at the first break. West Central scored the first seven points of the second quarter for a 22-11 lead with 4:30 left in the half. They stayed in front 31-22 at halftime.
Dell Rapids hung with West Central throughout the third quarter, and the Quarriers were within eight points, 44-36, with :59 to play in the quarter. The Trojans scored the final three points of the quarter for a 47-36 lead going into the fourth quarter. The Quarriers were still within the 11 points, 53-42, with 4:30 to play in the game. West Central ended the game on a 10-4 run to secure the win.
Rorie Thoreson had 13 points in the game. Jersi Schultz had eight points and eight rebounds. Elin Schoenhard also had eight points with seven rebounds. Josie Price finished with six points and six rebounds.
