The Dell Rapids Quarrier boys defeated the #5 team in Class B, the Freeman Flyers, at the Midwest Miracles Classic on Saturday, January 4th. The Quarriers led at every quarter break in their 63-51 win.
Dell Rapids took a six-point lead, 15-9, by the end of the first quarter. The Quarriers were able to extend their lead in the second quarter. The first half ended with Dell Rapids leading 37-28. Freeman was able to cut into the lead in the third quarter. The Flyers got within four points, 44-40, going into the fourth quarter. Dell Rapids responded by outscoring Freeman 19-11 in the final quarter for the win.
Tad Tjaden, named the Player of the Game, had 28 points, seven assists, three rebounds, and two steals. Jack Kloth added 16 points, eight blocked shots, and four rebounds. Lincoln Anderson had seven points. Lincoln Fersdahl ended with three points, four assists, and two rebounds.
