The Dell Rapids Quarrier boys got back into the win column with an afternoon home over the Mobridge-Pollock Tigers, 59-39, on Thursday, January 2nd.
The Quarriers opened the game on a 14-0 run. The Tigers responded with eight straight to cut the lead to 14-8. The first quarter ended with Dell Rapids leading 17-11. Mobridge-Pollock scored the two points of the second quarter to make the score 17-13, but that was as close as they could get. The Quarriers outscored the Tigers 16-8 the rest of the quarter for a 33-21 halftime lead. Dell Rapids continued to pull away in the second half. They led 43-29 after three quarters and then outscored Mobridge-Pollock 16-10 in the final quarter.
Dell Rapids shot 46% (22-48) overall, 42% (11-26) from three-point area, and 4-8 from the free-throw line. Mobridge-Pollock finished the game shooting 33% (15-45) overall, 20% (5-25) on three-point shots, and just 31% (4-13) from the free-throw line.
Tad Tajden had a game-high 27 points with four rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Lincoln Anderson added 15 points, three rebounds, and four assists. Jack Kloth had eight points, 10 rebounds, and two blocked shots. Lincoln Fersdahl had three points, five rebounds, and three assists.
