The Dell Rapids Quarriers could not overcome the hot shooting of the Aberdeen Roncalli Cavaliers on Saturday, December 21st. The Cavaliers did not miss a three-point shot in the second half on their way to a 57-41 win.
Dell Rapids held the lead for most of the first quarter. They ended the quarter with a 14-10 lead. The Quarriers extended the lead to 20-12 with 4:30 to play in the second quarter, but Roncalli finished the half on a 16-7 run to take a 28-27 lead into halftime. The two teams traded leads in the third quarter. Dell Rapids held a 33-30 advantage with 4:23 in the quarter, but the Cavaliers finished the quarter on a 9-3 run for a 39-36 lead. Roncalli then held Dell Rapids to just five total points in the fourth quarter.
The Quarriers shot 33% (15-45) overall, 33% (7-21) on three-point attempts, and 4-7 from the free-throw line. Roncalli finished the game shooting 54% (21-39) overall, 71% (12-17) from three-point area, and 3-5 from the free-throw line.
Tad Tjaden finished with 20 points and two rebounds. Jack Kloth had six points, five rebounds, and four blocked shots. Lincoln Anderson also had six points. Karsen Paye added five points. Lincoln Fersdahl had four rebounds and two assists.
