The Dell Rapids Quarrier girls traveled to Lennox for a Dak-12 Conference matchup against the Orioles on Tuesday, December 17th. Dell Rapids held a lead for most of the first half and was within four points late in the third quarter, but Lennox rallied for a 60-42 win.
The Quarriers got off to a quick start in the opening quarter and built a 13-8 lead by the end of the quarter. Dell Rapids continued to lead by five points, 22-17, with 5:00 to play in the first half. Lennox finished the second quarter on a 9-1 run for a 26-23 halftime lead.
Dell Rapids continued to stay within four points throughout much of the third quarter. They trailed 32-28 with 4:00 to play and 34-30 with 2:30 left in the quarter. The Orioles finished the third quarter with a 12-3 run to make the score 46-33 going into the fourth quarter. Lennox outscored Dell Rapids 14-9 in the final quarter.
The Quarriers shot 32% (14-44) in the game overall, 1-8 on three-point shots, and 72% (13-18) from the free-throw line. Lennox finished the game shooting 46% (25-54) overall, 24% (4-17) from three-point area, and 46% (6-13) from the free-throw line.
Rorie Thoreson finished with 14 points, three rebounds, and three steals. Jersi Schutlz had 11 points and eight rebounds. Josie Price added 10 points and two rebounds. Elin Schoenhard had four points and five rebounds.
