The Dell Rapids Quarrier volleyball team earned a straight set road win against the Deubrook Dolphins on Tuesday, October 15th. The Quarriers trailed at some point in every set, but won by scores of 25-20, 25-17, and 25-20.
Dell Rapids started the first set with a slim 4-3 lead. The Dolphins tied the score 7-7. They would then take the lead 10-9. Deubrook extended their lead to 16-12, but Dell Rapids rallied to tie the score 17-17. The Quarriers scored the next five points for a 22-17 lead. The lead grew to 24-18 before Dell Rapids won 25-20.
After an early 3-3 tie to start the second set, the Dolphins went on a 4-1 run to take an early 7-4 lead. Dell Rapids would eventually tie the score 12-12 and then go ahead 16-12. The Quarriers rode the momentum to a 25-17 win. Dell Rapids took an early 6-4 lead to start the third set. The Dolphins went on a 3-0 run to go in front 7-6. Deubrook extended their lead to 16-11, but Dell Rapids then made another run. The Quarriers got the score tied 18-18. After another tie at 20-20, Dell Rapids finished the match on a 5-0 run for a 25-20 win.
Madelynn Henry finished with 22 kills and six digs. Lauryn Kloth added nine kills. Karlie Ingalls had seven kills and a block. Sophi Randall had 39 set assists along with four ace serves. Alaina Wolff finished with nine digs and two ace serves.
