Quarriers Blank West Central

The Dell Rapids Quarrier football team won their fifth straight game, and third straight road game, on Friday, October 4th.  The Quarriers shut out the West Central Trojans 26-0 to improve to 5-1 on the season.

Cole Ruesink had the first touchdown of the game, a three-yard run with 3:06 remaining in the first quarter.  He added a 58-yard touchdown run, spinning out of a tackle to break away, as time expired in the first quarter to put the Quarriers ahead 12-0.  Neither team scored in the second quarter, and Dell Rapids led 12-0 at halftime.

Quinn Carr broke free up the middle for a 73-yard touchdown run with 8:13 to play in the third quarter.  Cooper Frost made the extra point to extend the lead to 19-0.  Carr scored another touchdown on a three-yard run with 4:09 remaining in the game.  Frost added another extra point for a 26-0 score.

Dell Rapids had 301 yards of total offense, 259 rushing yards and 42 passing yards.  West Central finished with 172 yards of offense, 150 rushing yards and 22 passing yards.  Ruesink had 16 carries for 121 yards and two touchdowns.  Carr added 12 carries for 105 yards and two touchdowns.  Frost was 4-6 passing for 42 yards.  Ruesink had three catches for 43 yards.

Drake Eastman had 6.5 tackles, a sack, and an interception in the game.  Kenny Swanson had 5.5 tackles.  Tad Tjaden finished with five tackles.  Lucas Keener added four tackles.  Ryan Stubbe also had four tackles with a fumble recovery.  Will Ronshaugen had two tackles and two interceptions.
