The #1 team in Class A volleyball, the Dell Rapids Quarriers, continued their run at home on Thursday, September 26th. Dell Rapids hosted the Flandreau Fliers and won in straight sets by scores of 25-8, 25-21, and 25-8.
After an early 1-1 tie, the Quarriers went on a 5-1 run for a 6-2 lead. There were able to extend the lead to 18-6 before finishing the set with a 7-0 run for the 25-8 win. Flandreau started the second set with a 2-0 run. The Fliers stayed in front until Dell Rapids tied the score 10-10. Flandreau went back in front 13-11, only to have Dell Rapids go on a 5-2 run for a 16-15 lead. The Quarriers extended their lead to 19-16, but Flandreau went on a 5-1 run to go back in front 21-20. Dell Rapids, however, finished the set on a 5-0 spurt for the 25-21 win. The Fliers started the third set with a 2-1 lead, but it was shore lived. Dell Rapids scored the next seven points for an 8-2 lead. They continued the momentum and went on a 10-3 run for an 18-5 lead before winning 25-8.
Sophi Randall finished with 28 set assists, seven kills, and five digs. Karlie Ingalls added six digs, four ace serves, and three kills. Madelynn Henry had 13 kills and five digs. Lauryn Kloth ended with 10 kills and three ace serves. Alaina Wolff had 15 digs, while Clara Justice had four digs. Peyton Hohn added three kills.
