The #1 ranked Dell Rapids Quarriers hosted the #4 Baltic Bulldogs in a battle of top 5 Class A volleyball teams on Monday, September 16th. Dell Rapids won by scores of 25-18, 25-15, and 25-20.
The first set started with a 3-3 tie. The Bulldogs took a 6-5 lead, but Dell Rapids didn’t trail for long. The Quarriers went ahead 7-6 and then worked themselves to an 18-11 lead. Dell Rapids finished the win by a 25-18 score. The Quarriers got out to a quick 5-1 lead to start the second set. Baltic got within three points, 8-5, but that was as close as they would get. Dell Rapids went ahead 16-10, then 22-13, before winning 25-15. Baltic took an early 3-1 lead to start the third set. Dell Rapids tied the score 4-4. The Quarriers led 11-9 and then went ahead 16-11. They stayed in front by four-to-six points all the way to a 25-20 win.
Madelynn Henry had 19 kills. Lauryn Kloth finished with seven kills and three blocks. Elin Schoenhard had five kills. Sophi Randall ended with five kills, three ace serves, five digs, and 32 set assists. Alaina Wolff had 10 digs.
