A five-run inning late in the game helped Parker to an 11-7 win over Dell Rapids Red 14U on Sunday, July 7th.
Dell Rapids scored first with a run in the top of the first. Parker got two runs in the bottom of the inning for a 2-1 lead. Dell Rapids took the lead 5-2 with a four-run top of the third. Parker got single runs in the bottom of the third and fourth innings to cut the lead to 5-4. Dell Rapids added to their lead with a two-run fifth inning making the score 7-4. Parker again cut the lead to one, 7-6, after two runs of their own in the bottom of the fifth. They then had the big blow, a five-run sixth inning, to take the win.
Camden Jones and Jacob Geraets both had two singles and two RBIs each. Haiden Kaffar also had two hits. Knox Cuny finished with a double and two RBIs. Hayden King and Isaac Ahlers each had one single. Jones pitched four innings and allowed nine runs, eight earned, on seven hits and five walks with five strikeouts. Edgar Vazquez pitched two innings and allowed two earned runs on three hits with one strikeout.
