Dell Rapids PBR scored in five innings and earned an 8-2 road win over Flandreau Blue Teal on Tuesday, July 2nd.
Dell Rapids got a single run in both the second and third innings for a 2-0 lead. Flandreau cut the lead in half, 2-1, with a run in the bottom of the second. PBR continued to score getting a run in the top of the fourth inning and two more in the fifth for a 5-1. The Blue Teal scored their second run in the bottom of the sixth for a 5-2 score. PBR got three insurance runs in the top of the eighth.
Drew Sweeter had two hits, one a double, with three RBIs. Zach Puetz also had two hits, including a double. Conner Spindler had a single and an RBI. Riley Calhoon, Weston Hansen, Nate McKee, and Matt Gillogly all had one hit each. Chris Kropuenske had an RBI.
Trey Randel pitched six innings and allowed two earned runs on seven hits and three walks with 11 strikeouts. Tanner Solberg threw two innings and allowed two hits with three strikeouts. Brayden Pankonen pitched one inning and recorded two strikeouts.
