The Dell Rapids Navy 14U team suffered their first loss of the 2024 season in Baltic on Wednesday, June 19th. Baltic came from behind for a 6-5 victory.
Dell Rapids scored a run in the type of the second and the two more in the top of the fourth for a 3-0 lead. Baltic scored two runs in the bottom of the fourth and then took the lead 6-3 after a four-run bottom of the fifth inning. Dell Rapids got one run back in the top of the sixth. They pulled within a run on a two-out RBI single by Lucas Peppel. A groundout one batter later ended the game.
Peppel, Eli Gullickson, and Andrew Schoeberl all had a single and an RBI. Rowdy Bowen added a single, and Rhett Thoreson had an RBI. Peppel pitched five innings and allowed six runs, three earned, on four hits and six walks with three strikeouts. C Bollock pitched an inning and walked three batters.
